Major Samia Rehman, a Pakistani female officer who took part in UN peacekeeping missions in the African country of Congo, is determined to fight the corona virus at all times, despite completing her mission last month.
Major Samia's duty ended on April 6, but he could not return to Pakistan due to the corona virus.Major Samia says that his 2 year old child calls and asks when will Mama come back?He said that he is worried but despite the worries, he is always ready to face the challenge of Corona virus.
Major Samia says his passion for work has multiplied in the current world situation.He also conveyed the message that together we can stop the spread of the corona virus.
A tweet paying tribute to Major Samia has surfaced on the social networking site Twitter from a verified account of UN Peacekeeping.
Samia is one of the first female officers of the Pakistan Army to be awarded the 2019 Certificate of Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for Mission Level Studies, Outstanding Performance in Analysis.
It should be noted that earlier this month, the United Nations, while openly acknowledging Pakistan's peace efforts and humanitarian activities, also paid tribute to the Pakistani peacekeepers in the best possible way.
Earlier, members of the Pakistan Women's Association Team (FET) deployed to the United Nations Stabilization Mission (Monso) in Congo were awarded the UN Medal for the first time.
Medals were awarded to 15 female officers serving as Major and Captain.
The team of 15 female officers includes Psychologists, Trauma Advisors, Vocational Training Officers, Gender Advisors, Doctors, Nurses, Operations Officers, Information Officers and Logistics Officers.
